Thanks Ace for taking an interest in the features I s***ested yesterday.
More S***ested Features for Kootali:
(1) Polls or Voting feature: Polls could be 2 types: (a) General/Public Polls that any member of the site can set up and any member of the site can vote on, (b) Specific/ Private Polls that each Group or Network can set up and only the members of that Group or Network can vote on; however, allow the Group or Network the option of making the result of Poll visible (or not visible) to the visitors of the Group or Network.
(2) Chatting where several people can chat together at the same time. Each Group and Network should also have its own Chat. There should be ability to create Private chat rooms.
(3) Private one–on one chatting (also known as Instant Messenger) similar to Yahoo Messenger and MSN Messenger. It should be done in such a way that for example a member visits the profile of another member, the first member should be able to click on a link in the profile that initiates a request to start a chat with the other member who should have the option to accept the invitation to chat or reject it. Furthermore, a member should be able to set up list of friends or favourite members that allows him to see when any of his friends is online so that he can initiate Instant Messenger chat with that friend.
(4) Give the Site Owner the ability and tools to prepare: (a) the questions (or information) they want to ask members to answer (or provide) and (b) how he wants the answers to appear, such as drop down menu, text box, a box that allows embedding html, CSS, codes, etc. This is important because each site caters to different audience; and therefore, you should give the Site Owner flexibility in choosing the questions which are best suitable for the audience of his site.
There is company (
www.v3chat.com) that creates good Chat Rooms & Instant Messenger. You can make an arrangement with them to make a special version of their scripts to integrate with Kootali.
